Hi

No pics either. First of all my scanner/printer broke so the pics I wanted to show will have to wait. Second Brandon got a bad cold that really flared up his asthma so we've had some VERY sleepless nights and many doctor visits. I can't wait til spring!!!

Hello all! I don't have much to say this week. Definately no pics... unless you want to see me at work! That's where I have been ALL weekend. Megan, doesn't call stink sometimes?!? Oh well. It's just part of the job, and I am grateful to have a job. Lots of others aren't so lucky. My brother and SIL have been cut back to only 20hrs per week right now. Yikes!

Hope all is well for everyone. Have a great week!!!!

Grant's weekend

We had the pleasure of having Grant overnight. Mom celebrated her 60th birthday yesterday and since she has had Grant at her house since last Friday (Chris, Curt, Becky and Dave went on a cruise), I offered to take Grant so she could go out. Grant is a lot of fun and it is always intriguing to hear what comes out of his 4 year old mouth! He found great pleasure in running after Pepper and trying to find her after Pepper decided that she had enough.

He helped Jamie with the chores this morning. He was a little disappointed we didn't have any chickens..guess we will try better next time =)

Emma lost her first tooth this past week. She was very excited to put it under her pillow for the tooth fairy to come. Well the tooth fairy did come that night and due to inflation and the cost of living left $1...but forgot to take the tooth! So after Emma pointed out to me that her tooth was still under her pillow, the tooth fairy came again with a quarter, and made sure that the tooth was taken. Of course Emma then wanted her tooth back but I explained that the tooth fairy needs the tooth. Luckily I didn't need to explain why!

Braden got 3rd at his tournament in Sully last weekend. We were very proud of how he wrestled and glad that he had some competition that was the same size as him.

We decided to take this weekend off, but will be back at it next weekend when we head to Monroe.

He also got some exciting news on Thursday. His teacher was to choose 2 kids from her class to attend a writing conference at William Penn and she chose Braden! Jamie told him that he attended the same conference when he was in 4th grade. We are very proud of him for being chosen.

We are finally going to sign our closing papers on the house this week. It has been drug out for a month and I finally had to do a little pushing to get it finished. Jamie and I are more than ready to have that chapter closed!

Stay warm today and tomorrow! I am ready for Spring!!

Weekend in Iowa

Hello there all! We are just home from another weekend in Iowa. What a weekend! We headed down to start the process of packing up Brian's dad's tools, etc. He was really into woodworking so there is a lot to sort through and sell. Up until recently Brian's mom was being a bit difficult about this whole process, but she kept saying she wanted to get started. So we weren't sure how all this was going to go. At this point the plan is to bring anything with any value up here to sell. We have a much larger market, and Brian is a much better salesman. He knows what things are, and can "wheel and deal" better than anyone I know. So this weekend we packed up a lot of stuff, and then plan to drive down again in a few weeks to load everything into a covered trailer. Then the real fun will begin with unloading everything into our garage and trying to sell it:) Brian's mom did pretty well through the weekend though. I think it was mainly because she was so excited about the phonecall she received from Amy's boyfriend asking for her blessing to propose to Amy on Saturday. She had a really hard time staying quiet until Amy called Saturday night with the news. (Jason had called Thursday night). It was kind of fun because we were together with Brian's aunt and grandma when she called. We were celebrating Brian and Grandma Katie's (91st) birthday. Grandma was glad to hear they were finally engaged. She hasn't been very happy since she found out they were living together. The sweet part was that Jason had asked Stan's blessing before he died. I think that helped Grandma a little:) So now the big question is when and where. The only thing I can say for sure is that it won't be in Iowa!
Hope everyone is surviving this lovely winter. I am soooo ready for spring!!!

January brings Wrestling and Snow

We had Braden's first wrestling meet yesterday in Eddyville. He had 2 matches...he won the first one and had a panic attack during the 2nd one. The kid during the 2nd match was a little more top heavy and when he was on top Braden couldn't breathe. He freaked out and left the match. We (mostly Jamie) are now teaching Braden the important lesson that we finish what we start. He has another match in Sully this Saturday so we will see if the pep talks help.

Thanks to all of the great snow we got today the kids built a fort after they got home. They rolled 10 large snow balls and were having a blast. Emma's picture is a result of too much cold weather!

Part 2

Ok..sorry about the title and nothing else the first time! We celebrated Grant's 4th birthday at Happy Joes tonight. His theme was Superhero's and we were asked to dress as our favorite Superhero. We had a lot of fun and it was as noisy as any get together of ours gets!

Party like a Superhero!

Pics

I finally got my computer back and running...I was going to post last night but then another virus snuck in and I thought I had better shut it down and call my new best friend (that would be the computer repair man) and ask what the ?? I did, he reassured me (just like a best friend should) and all is well with my life.

I did decide after dealing with a lawyer and a computer guy that I should have gone into one of those fields. I could handle charging $104 and $65 per hour for my services. Oh well..it is just money right?

So as for the pics.. a few Christmas shots (Sorry about the red eyes) and the 4 wheeler picture is Braden and his friend Gunnyr. He spent the night last weekend and brought his 4 wheeler over so they were tearing it up and having a blast. I told Jamie that I see our future..a bunch of boys coming over with their toys! I didn't get a shot of Emma on the 4 wheeler, but wish I had. She got to drive it after Gunnyr left and Braden went inside. All I saw was her flying by the window with a big old smile on her face and then she went flying by standing up and laughing. I never dreamed that I would have a daughter that is such a tomboy and girlie girl at the same time. Jamie wants to enroll her in wrestling so that she knows how to take care of herself when she gets older. I told him that since she can take down her brother and his friends now I think she will be good to go as a teenager =)

I will be posting again on Sunday..Braden has his first wrestling meet in Eddyville. I will let you know how he does.

Thanks for the posting of all of your holiday pictures!

Holiday Pics

Here is a pic of all the siblings. We had a good time with all of use together at Mom and Dad's. We had lots of get togethers, but they were spread out enough that we weren't too busy. The boys got lots of new toys. Our house looks like a Toys R Us exploded inside! But it's keeping them busy for awhile!! I also had to include a pic of Brandon taking after Mommy! He actually won't drink it, but he does like to carry around the cans. Some habits are hard to break!

Happy New Year

The Beebe family had a busy but enjoyable Christmas. We started parties in middle of December with the "Walton's."  My Grandma Van Wyk loved having all of her boys together.  In the picture:  Spencer (Jason's), Logan (Jill's), twin Andrew, Lane (Bradley's).  In the front are William, Ben and twin Ethan.

We just finished parties yesterday.  My cousins Jon and Mark were only home over New Year's.  Actually we are not finished because Brad's extended family canceled their party earlier in December do to weather but no make-up date has been set.

On the 23rd we had church and William was Baby Jesus.  When I received the phone call and agreed, I didn't realize that I was agreeing to being the entire Holy Family and wearing costumes!  We always spend Christmas eve in Jefferson and Christmas day in Ankeny.  William was not really interested in Christmas and was just off his schedule.  (He was up all Christmas Eve....maybe waiting for Santa?).  Brad and I got him this cool toy already in November.  So Brad spent all Christmas morning putting it together with the "walker" from his parents.  I know the big no-no toy of the AAP.  Christmas was fun this year.  Brad's nephew Robby also got a DS.  The twins were fun to watch with presents.  Ethan loves William and always want to hold him...and then drop him.  It is always so much fun to try and get pictures of everyone together.

We are almost done working in our basement.  Just a little bit of touch-up painting.  It is my turn to host my work holiday party next weekend so we have been on a mission.  Brad is happy to have his Cub's hangout and has been watching football all afternoon today!

Poor Elliot!  I have had the "yuck" this week and actually missed work on Wednesday and thankfully had taken a vacation day on friday.  Nothing better on New Year's than fevers and nausea!  Good thing Brad is such a great husband and went and rented lots of movies.  So far Brad and William have been healthy.  I'm so glad that we have had a quiet day today because I am still not 100%.

Well, Happy New Year everyone!  We need to start planning our next get together because it might take all of 2009 :)

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!

Lt pic is of some of Brian's cousins, Emma and Mallory.

Pic below is me being an "Auntie" to Elliott and Chas's dog, Maddie.

We had a pretty good holiday season. Christmas was a very busy time with both families. We arrived in town around 6:30pm on the 24th. Before we had our coats off, or the truck unpacked, Brian's mom was asking if we could light the grill to cook the shrimp. Mmmmm...fresh from Seattle thanks to Amy's boyfriend's parents. We had a nice dinner after we took moment to light a candle for Stan. It was very strange not having him there. Brian was the only male present that night.
Christmas day turned out a little different from the usual. Typically we spend it with my family, but Elliott and Chas went to see some family in Sioux Center. So we spent the morning and early afternoon with Brian's family. Then we headed over to my parents' house. Then plan had been to have prime rib, but Elliott had ended up in the ER with severe flu symptoms. They gave him fluids and some meds so he was doing better, but he really wasn't in the mood for food. We still had a pretty fun evening, but left early so he could go to bed. Then the fun really began. Donna's brother, sister, and their families had arrived! We stayed up until almost 2am playing Christmas trivia, singing, and then some were even dancing in the kitchen to ELVIS!!! Yes, there was a bit of alcohol involved, but Donna's family is usually a riot. They all stuck around until Saturday morning, and then headed home in the lovely weather. I was super glad we weren't going anywhere until Sunday am.
Saturday night, the 27th, we got together with my family again to celebrate my parents' 40th anniversary, and Chas's birthday. We had the prime rib that night! Mom was pretty excited because it was their 40th, our 10th, and Elliott and Chas's 5th in 2008.
After a few days of work, it was New Year's Eve. Elliott and Chas came up to join us. They had never been up to our house before, and we had a great time. A Fabulous comedian, Jeff Dunham, was performing in Minneapolis. I laughed so hard I cried. After the show we headed home, ate some snacks, and rang in the New Year! I'm amazed I made it that late to tell the truth. The next day we slept in, watched some football, played some pool, and just spent some time together. The four of us haven't really had much time just the four of us. It was nice to catch up a little. They are hoping to move back to Iowa, and so are we. It would be nice to see them a bit more often.
Well, that's our holiday season in a nutshell. Hope everyone else had a nice time too.
